Bacchia was created by a small group of people who were born and raised in Athens. Soon our love and respect for Nature led us to the wondrous mountain of the Centaurs, Pelion, where, along with developing Bacchia, we cultivate herbs by using biodynamic methods.
After twenty years of experience and study of ancient cultures and ethnobotany, we created this unique site where you can find carefully selected goods of the highest quality, combining the natural and traditional ways of ethnic cultures to the social and ecological awakening of our era. Τhis is, moreover, the main idea of the growing apace Eco-ethnical lifestyle where ecological conscience meets the colourful world culture of ethnic traditions and social awakening, sprung from the need of a fair society and an ethical trade, far from any mistreatment and profit. An eco-ethnical market follows «green» policies, based on ethos and strong moral values, supports fair trade and considers natural, organic, fair trade goods which highlight the local, traditional and unique features of every place of our planet.
Our Eco Ethical Ethnic Policy
Our believing is that all economic activity should be politically, socially and environmentally responsible. We believe in the promotion of changes in the structure of world trade, which work towards the building of a fair society in a sustainable, natural economy for the environment and our future. All aspects of our business are guided by the principles of mutual respect, justice and equal partnership. We provide natural, organic and fair trade products, from cosmetics free from animal cruelty to vegetarian food. We try to find traditional products from all over the world according to ethical criteria – natural, eco friendly, fair trade – but also products with ethnic background and that’s because we believe that the core of tribal cultures is to be in harmony with Mother Nature.
According to this philosophy we try as better as it could be possible to keep these standards:
I.Support non profit organizations
for human and animal rights, environmental, social justice and tribal, culture protection.
II.Promote fair trade standards:
i.Ensuring that fair prices are paid to producer groups and reflect the true costs of production.
ii.These would cover areas such as product development, transport, environmental protection and social development.
iii.Respecting traditional crafts and encouraging their development.
iv.Protect children from dangerous and exploitative work. We support children's rights to education and to be free from violence, exploitation and abuse.
v.We support women equal rights for a better life and to be financially independent.
III.Promote ecological awareness:
We support:
i.ecological solutions to help the development of a more natural economy.
ii.the use of natural and organic ingredients and materials and avoid potentially toxic chemicals; e.g. in use of skincare and cosmetic products.
iii.the use of products made from recycled materials.
iv. we are totally against of animal testing and to products which contain animal by-products. None of the products we have on our site are tested on animals,
or contain animal by-products.
IV.Promote culture and tribal globalization:
i.Promote the Natural way of living and thinking as a part of a worldview according to Mother Nature.
ii.We believe that is the core of philosophy of all tribal – ancient and modern – cultures.
iii.Support activities for helping tribal cultures to survive because we believe in a multi culture united world.
iv.Support multi ethnic, multi coloured globalization because we believe that Civilization is part of natural evolution and Nature is multidimensional
v.Promote ethnic as ethic because both came from ethos an ancient Greek word that means the common values and habits of a society which are the source of civilization.
vi.Promote products that keep their traditional feature and promote their ethnic culture.
For all these we are a eco ethnical store!
